We started with Sorenson Genetics in our quest for the Proof that Bill Long is the Sundance Kid.  Yes and well, yes. Bill Long is William Henry Long son of James Henry Long and Ann Harvey AND he is the Sundance Kid. He was the second one arrested in Wyoming after Harry Longabaugh escaped and it was Bill Long who took of the identity of the Sundance Kid. Bill used to tell us that he rode into a gun fight with one identity and rode out with another. See Jerry Nickle's book "The Sundance Kid, My Second Great Grandfather".

​Viola’s Letter along with Y DNA match of 15/15 are definitive proof that Bill Long is Bill Long son of James, Abner...Ware LONG.  

A Y DNA match of 15/15 markers would show that two people are likely related but lacks the definitive proof level which we were determined to find. When Sherma Peyton showed us the Viola Letter and the Bill Long Sisters Picture, we were very excited but not as excited as we would become once we realized this letter along with the Y DNA 15/15 match results would be the definitive proof that William Henry Long is indeed William Henry Long, son of James Long, son of Abner Long, son of Ware Long.​​

Once I posted the Viola letter to my www.outlawtrailadventures.com web page two years ago in 2010, Ghost Town Bob found the census record of James Long, wife Ann, children all matched the Bill Long Viola's Letter list of siblings for Bill Long...they matched exactly.​​

This is the proof we have been looking for. This is the proof we dug up Bill Long's bones to find. This is the reason we have been looking far and wide for 8 remarkable years.
